Lecture: Uprooting, Trauma, and Confinement; Psychiatry in Refugee Camps, 1945-1993 by Baher Ibrahim

The next event of the Richardson Seminar on the History of Psychiatry will take place on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 via Zoom.

Please join us at 2pm EST on Wednesday, April 7, for a fascinating lecture by Baher Ibrahim, M.D., who will speak on “Uprooting, Trauma, and Confinement: Psychiatry in Refugee Camps, 1945-1993.” Dr. Ibrahim is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the history of medicine at Glasgow University. His research looks at the history of psychiatry and mental health interventions in refugee health care and humanitarian crises, with a focus on refugee camps. After his Ph.D., Dr. Ibrahim will return to clinical practice to train in psychiatry. Please join us on Wednesday for his talk. All are welcome.
