Dear readers of H-Madness,

We are pleased to announce the upcoming international conference “Who Cares? Psychiatry in the English-Speaking World: Theories and Policies”, which will take place at Université Paris Nanterre from 19 to 21 March 2026.

This conference is the second event in the Who Cares? Psychiatry in the English-Speaking World series. It brings together historians, scholars of literature and culture, and researchers in the history of medicine and mental health to examine the theoretical frameworks and public policies that have shaped psychiatric knowledge and practice in the English-speaking world.

The programme includes keynote lectures, thematic panels, and discussions addressing topics such as the history of psychiatric institutions, public policy and mental health governance, migration and psychiatry, and the circulation of psychiatric ideas and practices.
