We would like to draw your attention to an upcoming conference by Jessica Schupbach, organized by the Département d’Histoire des sciences de la Vie et de la Santé de l’Université de Strasbourg, as part of the seminar series Les mardis de l’histoire médicale, savoirs et pratiques de la santé. The talk explores the intersections of medical history, psychiatry, and sound studies, focusing on how podcasting and auditory reconstruction can offer new ways to access and narrate patients’ experiences. It also reflects on the methodological and epistemological challenges of writing a “sonic history” of psychiatry, bringing forward voices often only faintly preserved in medical archives.
